I have not been blogging recently because I was travelling and have been practicing my spelling using purposeful motor movements from my elbow, wrist and finger. It takes great concentration to practice purposeful motor movement. I have really improved my accuracy, my fluency, my pride in myself and my ability to communicate and socialise.
My ocular motor has also improved, and my eyes are focussed on my finger pointing on each letter more consistently. If you were to look at old videos of me, you would see me move my arm from my shoulder and spell with a straight arm while scanning the letterboard looking for each letter.
So I am sorry that I have not been blogging recently because my life has changed so much.
Now that I am spelling more efficiently, I will let you know about my exciting trip to America and Canada, my future plans and how I am progressing with spelling to communicate using a letterboard.
My goal is to spell fluently on a keyboard before I turn 18 years old. I am 15 years old.
Are you able to move your body and control what you are thinking with the actions? My brain sometimes has a mind of its own. I find it frustrating, but I practise every day.
I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Patrick
